Massage Therapy Continuing Education Deep Tissue October
"Intelligent Deep-Tissue Massage: Part 2—Upper Body" with Eric Stephenson is the newest webinar in the ABMP Education Center. ABMP members can access the webinar and earn free CE at www.abmp.com/CE.
This course teaches therapists of all experience levels a safe and effective approach for addressing the upper body when performing Intelligent Deep-Tissue Massage, and is the second in a series of three webinars. This work enables the therapist to work comfortably using standing and seated postures to perform a therapeutic massage, without using unnecessary effort and potentially injuring themselves. The instructor will explore techniques to include the pectoralis major and minor, anterior deltoid, shoulder girdle, back, and flexors and extensors of the forearm. The instructor will also demonstrate delivering Intelligent Deep-Tissue Massage with the proper amount of lubricant and place a special emphasis on body mechanics and ergonomics. The purpose of the class is to introduce simple but effective techniques a therapist may employ to extend their career and avoid injury and burnout, while ensuring the therapist provides a stellar client experience.
This course is our second webinar with Eric Stephenson, who creates continuing education focused on career longevity for massage schools, spas, and professional organizations, specializing in teaching deep-tissue massage that doesn't harm the therapist or the client. All of his workshops focus on saving your hands with his "No Thumbs!" approach and Core Body Mechanics that help prolong your career. Eric works with some of the most respected names in the wellness industry throughout the US, Canada, Asia, and the Caribbean. Learn more at www.imassageinc.com.
